10 Billion Tokens: The Next Chapter in Payments Innovation

10 Billion Tokens: The Next Chapter in Payments Innovation

VGS has just crossed 10 billion tokens stored, and the shape of that growth curve is the real headline.

It took us seven years to reach our first 5 billion tokens. It took twelve months to double that. We now add more than 1 billion tokens to the vault each month. The numbers alone are the clearest signals yet that the market for trusted agentic infrastructure has hit its inflection point.

VGS surpasses 10 billion tokens stored

We spent the necessary time laying the foundation. From earning the trust of enterprise merchants and AI platforms, to hardening compliance, and becoming embedded in the payment flows of the world’s most demanding businesses, followed by a compounding acceleration curve. Now that the foundation is paying off at an exponential rate.

The velocity defines the difference between a company riding a hype cycle and one that has quietly become load-bearing infrastructure.

Right now, agentic commerce is rewriting the payments stack

The acceleration is a direct result of a structural shift in how enterprises think about commerce. agents are increasingly transacting on behalf of businesses and consumers. That shift breaks the assumptions on which most legacy payments and data infrastructure were built.

Agentic commerce has three demands simultaneously, at scale.

  1. Control: Data ownership that doesn’t disappear into a black box when an agent is transacting.
  2. Compliance: A regulatory posture that holds up across jurisdictions as transaction volume and complexity multiply.
  3. Experience: Zero-friction performance because agents don’t tolerate latency or broken flows.

Historically, these have been trade-offs. VGS’s growth is evidence that the market is rewarding the platform that turns those three key factors into table stakes.

Reading the growth signal

A few things stand out from this milestone for VGS. First, this milestone shows compounding growth, not cyclical growth. Doubling in 12 months what once took years is not a one-off. A 1B/month run rate is now the standard.

Second, VGS is scaling without diluting trust. Every token stored is another enterprise choosing to offload liability rather than carry sensitive data themselves. With that, the core VGS value proposition gets stronger with scale.

Third, VGS is positioned at the center of the next wave. This was by design. As agentic and global commerce expand into new markets, payment rails, and regulatory regimes, VGS’s infrastructure enables enterprises to move quickly without relinquishing ownership of their data. We’re the trusted solution to the bottleneck that enterprise clients have faced in moving toward the next generation of commerce.

What’s next

As agentic commerce scales, the infrastructure layer that makes it safe, secure, and fast becomes more valuable. VGS is that valued, trusted layer and intends to remain so.

The next chapter of agentic is evolving, so the next chapter of VGS will evolve and be bigger than the last. We just expect this chapter to accelerate even faster than before.
