VGS and PAAY are joining forces to help streamline 3DS, tokenization, and card management solutions for mutual customers. This partnership is designed to enable shared merchants with payment choices and flexibility.

PAAY and VGS Partnership

Introduction

VGS is the world's leader in payment tokenization and holds 4 billion tokens globally while storing 70% of all US cards. We are trusted by Fortune 500 organizations, including merchants, fintechs, and banks, to store and enrich sensitive payment data across cards, bank accounts, and digital wallets.

PAAY is a best-in-class EMV 3-D Secure provider and one of the largest providers in North America, protecting billions of dollars in transactions every year.

Our partnership

VGS offers a processor and token-agnostic card management platform with a vault. We securely store, tokenize, and transmit PII and card data across any provider to enable both increased authorizations and cost savings.

PAAY's main offerings are centered around improving and simplifying the 3D Secure authentication process - a protocol to reduce online payment fraud. With the rise of card-not-present transactions and the growing concerns over fraud, 3D Secure has become an essential layer of security for card payments.

VGS and PAAY share a vision of ensuring merchants achieve fast, secure, and customer-friendly online payment authentication to prevent fraud, comply with regulations, and improve the overall payment experience for consumers.

How will it work?

With this partnership, PAAY merchants can use the VGS payments hub and vault to securely share sensitive PCI data and 3DS verification across their Payment Service Providers (PSPs). VGS merchant clients can use PAAY's certified 3-D Secure solutions to authenticate buyers and safeguard sales. Merchants can reduce fraud and unauthorized online transactions by adding a security layer to verify the identity of cardholders during checkout. Using 3-D Secure also helps merchants and financial institutions comply with international regulations like PSD2 in the EU, which mandate more stringent security and strong customer authentication for online payments.

In the consumer authentication flow, VGS can securely share PANs with a 3DS verification partner like PAAY to ensure that the payer is the card owner. 3DS verification will shift liability for the transaction onto the cardholder's issuing bank, substantially decreasing chargeback fees for merchants.

A joint solution for merchants

PAAY and VGS provide a comprehensive merchant offering that combines EMV Secure with VGS's PCI-compliant payment acceptance and data security solutions. Adopting this solution enables merchants to:
